Workshops

Workshops take place in-person at the Tompkins County Public Library from 10 am - 1 pm with lunch provided. Facilitated by Brit Campese of Vision Driven Consulting. Registration is required.

Learn how to connect your project’s financial goals to a range of different fund-seeking strategies. 

 

Wednesday, October 16

Part I. Grant Writing for Food Systems

Learn where to find grant funding opportunities, how to connect your work with funders’ priorities, and how to write a competitive application.

 

Friday, November 8

Part II. Grant Writing for Food Systems

We’ll write a grant application together—from start to finish—utilizing actual funding opportunities. 

 

Content in later sessions builds on previous sessions. Attendance at all three workshops is not required. Contact us for childcare support, transportation, or language translation or interpretation services.

 

1:1 Coaching

Work directly with grantwriting and fundraising consultant Brit Campese of Vision Driven Consulting. 

​Tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of small groups and individuals, coaching sessions will be available by appointment from September to December 2024. Registration is required.

  • Supports individuals and collaborative groups

  • Hands-on and tailored to meet your individual needs and goals

  • Focused on the subject of your choice ( options include grant research and discovery, grant editing, budget development, technical application assistance, crowdfunding, individual donor development, etc.)

Eligibility

Fundraising assistance and coaching is available to any nonprofit, farm and food-related businesses, and fiscally sponsored projects whose work helps to advance the Tompkins County Food System Plan. Priority given to those that: 

 

  • Have annual budgets under $250K

  • Serve or operate in rural or less populated towns and villages 

  • Don’t currently have paid grant writers and/or development staff

  • Have leadership that is representative of the communities they serve 

  • Are majority-led by individuals who are Black, African American, and/or of African descent; Immigrants, Indigenous, and/or People of Color
